About

Who is behind 1sin?

Yo I’m Pierce—or Ekpap on the internet. I’m a professional artist, game developer, and builder of cool things.

I created 1sin as a way to present art in a sustainable, long-lasting format that people can wear, experience, and live with. Each piece is designed to tell a story. You can find more about me and my work here: ekpap.com

Materials:

At 1sin we use the best materials we can find, while still working towards affordability.

Organic Cotton:

For fabrics we use Organic Cotton. Unlike conventional cotton, it’s grown without synthetic pesticides and processed without harmful chemicals, making it better for your skin, the environment, and farmers.

And unlike polyester, organic cotton is a real plant fiber (polyester is essentially woven petroleum!) meaning no microplastics on your skin, and less odor retention.

If you would like to read the scientific studies about the above statements, you can find some here: Environmental Impact of Organic Cotton, Polyester Toxicity, Cotton vs. Polyester odor retention, Microplastics in Polyester

Embroidery

We also choose to embroider designs at 1sin instead of printing. While printing does allow for larger and more intricate designs, it fades over time and some printing processes involve a LOT of toxic chemicals. (and why go organic cotton if we’re going to print with chemicals?)

It is worth noting DTG (Direct to Garment printing) does use water-based inks, so it’s much healthier than DTF (direct to film, which uses the toxic chemicals), but DTG still has the problem of fading over time.

This is one of the first shirts I printed back in 2023. I used DTG printing, and it has since faded.

Production

Production, and shipment is primarily fulfilled by print-on-demand companies (Gelato). Print-on demands helps reduce the risks of overproduction, and is more reliable due to:

  • Production tending to be fulfilled closer to where it’s shipping.
  • Having a much larger network of suppliers and warehouses, increasing reliability that your product arrives on time.
  • Products only being created when they are bought.

I may switch to my own supply line in the future. Currently as an individual artist, print-on-demand allows me to ship more reliably and a better product to you, and permits me more time to focus on designing and storytelling.

Why call it 1sin?

1 sin is the beginning of humanity as we know it. The first sin: The moment fire was stolen from the gods. The act of eating the fruit of knowledge. The desire to transcend our mortal bounds. To be human is to sin at least once—to create, to destroy, to begin. The first step in a story. Without sin there would be no character arc, no growth.

But sin also means pain, suffering, evil. It’s a dichotomy: flawed beginnings entail growth and redemption, but the flawed beginning also entails darkness.

That philosophy drives the heart of this brand. Every collection is built around storytelling, growth, and contrast—creation and destruction, light and shadow, knowledge and consequence.

Also: ekpap means “1 sin” in sanskrit!

Returns?

Currently I use Gelato, and adhere to their return policy: HERE
While Gelato does not offer returns, they do offer replacements. If the product is damaged in any way, or has some problem, please contact me at pi@ekpap.com and we can work towards a solution.

As an independent seller, I want to ensure that every order is fulfilled, and meets expectations.

What’s next?

T-shirts are just the beginning. Our goal is to expand into archival prints, sweatshirts, and more, continuing to fuse art and storytelling into pieces that hold deeper meaning.
